Yes, this photo is a few years ago. We were happy travelers! We have been upgrading the motorhome this
past year. We have rebuilt the carburetor and put on a new set of headers with duel exhausts. We had the rear brake cylinders
rebuilt and it's now been smogged. We put in a new furnace and are getting ready to install a new toilet. I was going
to paint it but I decided to just keep it primed. It's getting skin cancer and I need to work on it all the time. It still
needs a lot of work but it's almost ready to go. I even put some rain gutters on it. I am working hard on
getting it more dependable when we go on the road. We have taken a few short trips as test runs. Rosie is busy cleaning the
inside and making it look nice. She plans to put new curtains up because she washed the old ones and they fell apart. The biggest
problem for us now, is the price of gas. We made a trip to San Diego to have the refrigerator cooling unit replaced.
This will be a long test drive after all this work.
Traveling with our family were some of the happiest times in our lives. I want to share moments like
this with all of you again! I would dearly like to spend some time with each of my children. You all have things to see
and places to go in your areas but now most of all, we want to have fun and enjoy our grandchildren. We want to
put new photos on this page.
I think the first place I wanted to go, after we got the motorhome back on the road was to see Ruben's &
Sherri. Now, he tells me they just sold their place. It was going to be a nice place in a forest pines setting.
There are lakes and streams for us to go fishing, we just have to remember to take our mosquito repellant. So, we're
planning a trip to Red Rock canyon the weekend of the 23rd & 24th. Maybe the cold weather will hold off a little
longer.
Rosie and I loved to drive the Baja Bug up the river washes in Red Rock Canyon and other desert areas. We
could go from the desert floor up to a 3000 foot elevation. I don't know if we can still do this because now, there are a
lot of Off Road restrictions. However, I've been doing some research and there are still many places we can go.
Death Valley was nice too. Lots of sites you don't see everyday and lots of canyons to explore. The only
thing about the low desert is you don't want to go there between late May and Late October. On the otherhand, February and
March are fantastic. The desert floor is carpeted with beautiful mulitcolor flowers. Even the cactus are in bloom.
The Anza Borego National Park is a great place this time of year. We usually went there late February. It
is at the foot of the San Gorgonio mountain range, so if you go up the mountain road you can look back down on the desert
floor. Here you will see a beautiful picture God gives us every spring. Anza Borego has many sites to see and explore at
this desert park. You can also explore the mountain dirt roads that take you to out of the way places. You find old cabins,
small lakes, streams with fishing and swimming holes, beautiful green meadows for a picnics.
There is always the Colorado River. It's a good place to camp but it's more fun if you have a boat. Especially
if you get up to Lake Powell. What a fantastic place! I sure would like to go there with the family and rent a big houseboat.
I think we could have a wonderful time swimming, skiing, fishing and just relaxing drinking Coronas, Spaniada or enjoying
ourselves fooling around.
Riverside is not that far away from the river, so we often went there for a weekend of fun or more. Ruben
had a speed boat and most of the time he went there with his friends. Sometimes they had a little too much cervesa and they
sunk the boat. Once they even sunk my truck!
The river can be a little treacherous. The water runs high or low, depending the snow melts in the mountains.
If the water is low, there are sand bars and tree stumps that can hurt your boat. It takes careful navigation but mostly it
takes a boat with low draft. Our White Cloud was jet powered and could run on shallow water, so we could go just about anywhere
on the river. Most of the time we went to Lake Havesu, especially when they had boat races.

Our Baja Bug is almost finished. It will look something like this except I am painting it gray. I know we
will have a lot of fun with it and it will take us to many special places. We hope you will be there, so you can enjoy it
with us.
Well Mike, when are you going to finish working on the Scout? Hopefully, he can get it ready soon.
We need to hit the trails. Mike when you finish it, send me a picture. I also have another VW Bug sitting in my shop
just waiting for one of you to take on the project and make a Baja or a Dune Buggy out of it. Maybe Tom & Cody can build
one. Just think of it! One of these days we could have a Corona Caravan to the Arizona Bugorama.

| My 1966 Ford F100 |
I am going to be working on my F100 Ford Classic Truck. maybe I'll show it at some car shows. Now that
Andrew is home from college, he wants to really start fixing it up. It will also serve as a tow vehicle for our Baja Bug for
quick trips to Pismo or other short Desert Cruises.
